Soon GPS everywhere!
Yeah, finally, that if you wish!
The company Infineon announced it made the smallest GPS chip in the world! It measures 2.8 x 2.9 mm. The goal of being able to put in any electronic device.
It means that soon we will have the little beasts everywhere. Are already talking about the use that can be done in terms of telephony and security, but the other big trend of GPS, the camera!
Ben why do?
For geo! For example, some digital cameras too expensive already have a microchip. So they can add EXIF data (information of the shot: the date, time, focal etc ...) the geographical location of the outlet, ie longitude and latitude. In short the photo will tell you where it was taken!
Reading these three lines, it seems to naze, but imagine a program that collects all your photos and creates a map by placing small markers for each 'snapshot' of your life ...
For now the French have a few bad years of photos stored on their computers, but rajotuer 10 years, then 20 years! Plus there will be automatically added info on our plates, and the sorting and viewing of images is simplified!
- And on the where this picture?
- Ben three meters farther than the previous one.
- Ah yes.
It will break, not everybody, but for those of you interested in this kind of device would soon become affordable, and finally standards. And for the software already exists. This is Apple's iPhoto 09.
Obviously, we can already discuss other possibilities mini GPS chips ... Everything is not dreaming ... tracking, theft, justice etc ...
But in the meantime,
Thank you and thank you Infineon La Poule Blanche
